Project Coordinator – Specialist (Healthcare Procurement)

What We’re Looking For
Education:
Associate’s Degree or High School Diploma with additional coursework in purchasing, accounting, marketing, or sales.
Experience:
Minimum 8 years of experience as a Buyer or Procurement Specialist within a healthcare organization.
Technical Expertise:
Experience with medical products and online purchasing systems, including internet‑based procurement tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
Coursework or certification in Purchasing, Contracting, or Management (e.g., Certificate in Purchasing Management or related credential).
Core Strengths:
Negotiation and vendor management
Contract analysis and cost savings
Solid communication and relationship‑building skills

Salary: $44 - $46 per hour. Shift: First. Work hours: 8 AM – 5 PM. Education required: High School.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Sourcing & Procurement:
Identify, evaluate, and procure cost‑effective supplies, equipment, and services using approved vendors while ensuring quality and compliance.
Vendor & Contract Optimization:
Research and recommend new suppliers as needed; partner with department leaders to review and leverage existing contracts for savings opportunities through GPOs and related contracting entities.
Order Management & Expediting:
Manage order follow‑up to ensure timely delivery and uninterrupted patient care operations.
Cost Reduction Initiatives:
Routinely meet with vendors to identify innovative ways to reduce supply, equipment, and service costs without compromising care standards.
Cross‑Department Collaboration:
Work closely with clinical, operational, and leadership teams to align procurement strategies with departmental needs and hospital goals.
Market & Product Insight:
Apply medical product knowledge to evaluate alternatives, recommend improvements, and support informed purchasing decisions.
Qualifications
8 years of experience in procurement within a healthcare setting.
Proven vendor management and negotiation skills.
Strong analytical and communication abilities.
