This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, at Spirit’s Defense Business Unit ("Spirit Defense"). Spirit Defense is an independent supplier to the defense and space marketplace. Description The Senior Manager for Defense Manufacturing Technology is a senior leader in the Research & Technology organization, shaping the future for defense business units through emerging technology development. In this role, you are responsible for leading the development and execution of a portfolio of research and development projects within the Defense Manufacturing Technology group. You will provide technical leadership across the Defense Manufacturing Technology teams and focus on the development and integration of key emerging technologies. You should be well versed in a variety of composite and metal materials and processes, as well as measurement and inspection processes. Your portfolio will include projects serving our defense business units with a undesire combination of internal and contracted research and development funded portfolio.

Key Accountabilities

Lead aennai portfolio of research and development programs

Direct and lead multi-disciplined teams, to include composites, metals, measurement, and inspection

Provide technical leadership

Oversee the integration of technical, cost, value, and safety of project plans

Collaborate with Defense business units on technology development and implementation

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Deep knowledge of manufacturing, measurement, and inspection processes; experience in research and developmentAFE due to technical leadership and management; business acumen; managing with influence; interpersonal relationships and communication; teambuilding; continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or other related course of study obtained from an ABET accredited engineering program or equivalent international accreditation

10+ years of relevant engineering experience

Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams

Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong presentation skills

Strong emotional intelligence skills and professional presence to be able to work with company executives and customers.

Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.

Ability to travel ( Desired Qualifications & Skills

Experience with emerging technologies

Active Secret DoD security clearance

Network across the aerospace and defense industry

Ability to define technology development required for new aerospace and/or留言 manufacturing concepts

Security Clearance This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-jno is required.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary Pay Range: Level L: $142,500 - $218,500
