Advanced Clinical Practitioner - Breast Imaging
The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust are looking for a dynamic, caring, and enthusiastic Advanced Clinical Practitioner in Breast Imaging.
Candidates must have their postgraduate in Mammography and have a full MSc in Medical Imaging or equivalent, to include their dissertation. It is essential that the candidate has acquired the postgraduate ultrasound qualification at a minimum and can evidence working within the symptomatic clinics and under 40's. Those who require an outstanding component such as interventional or film reading will be considered and supported through training to include the dissertation to obtain their full MSc.
If there is an outstanding component remaining to gain the full MSc, this will be a Band 7 until successful completion of a Masters qualification and all requisite clinical components in breast imaging – image interpretation, ultrasound, interventional techniques and dissertation are completed. It is an expectation to complete all aspects of the MSc to progress to an ACP Band 8a.
The department provides screening and symptomatic services for the county of Shropshire and parts of mid-Wales. We have recently implemented Contract Enhanced Mammography and Vacuum Assisted Excisions. We are supported by an excellent team of Consultant Radiographers, Advanced Practitioners, Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners, Breast Care Nurses, Imaging Assistants and Clerical staff.

As a qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner, the post‑holder will be required to work within local and nationally agreed frameworks in the delivery of an advanced level of clinical practice within the field of Breast Imaging.
About us Due to the nature of the work, mammography posts have a gender protected character. This is a genuine occupational requirement and, as a result, this post is exempt under Schedule 9; Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010 and, therefore, only female applicants should apply.
