Regional Safety Manager

Hanover is seeking an experienced Regional Safety Manager to oversee the activities of our construction jobsites primarily within their region (California and Colorado) to make sure that employees, subcontractors, and consultants within that setting comply with the government’s safety regulations and our organization’s policies. While this is a regional position, nationwide travel to facilitate training, site inspections, and other safety duties will vary based on the geographical needs of the company and project locations.
The Regional Safety Manager is responsible for facilitating compliance with occupational safety and health guidelines, fire prevention, and water damage prevention. The main goal is to always ensure a safe working environment and prevent any injuries and accidents.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the implementation of Hanover safety policies and programs. Assist in the development of site-specific safety plans for assigned projects. Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics. Monitor changes in workplace safety legislation at the federal and state levels; recommend adjustments to safety plans as needed; and notify the corporate safety manager and VP of Operations of the changes. Prepare educational seminars and webinars on a regular basis. Review existing policies and procedures and advise on any changes or updates that may be needed. Work with Corporate Safety Manager to deliver new employee onboarding process for safety. Adhere to all rules and regulations and enforce preventative measures. Periodically check assigned jobsites to confirm all employees and subcontractors are adhering to rules and regulations As work progress on the project, ensure various fire and water loss prevention controls are installed in a timely and appropriate manner. Review reports on accidents and violations, determine causes, and present solutions. Monitor third-party safety companies for assigned projects. Qualifications:
5+ years of construction safety management experience. Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management or related field (or equivalent experience) required. Safety certification (CSP, CHST, MESH, or similar) required. Strong knowledge of wood-frame and concrete construction. Strong knowledge of legislation and procedures. Excellent knowledge of potentially hazardous materials and/or practices. Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management systems. Experience writing policies and procedures regarding health and safety. Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics. Proficient with Procore and Microsoft Office, and working knowledge of safety management information systems. Strong organizational and communication skills Willingness to travel extensively and resides near a major airport.
