LAW 886 Intellectual Property Practicum USC Gould School of Law seeks a lecturer to teach the three-unit Intellectual Property Practicum. Students provide supervised legal services to USC student films, mastering content clearance, contracts, risk analysis, and client counseling within real-world entertainment production.

Qualifications Candidates must hold a JD and have at least five years of practice, including experience in the subject area. The course will be taught on campus, so instructors must be local.

Responsibilities Teach the two-semester practicum, supervise student legal services for film productions, cover content clearance, contract drafting, risk analysis, and client counseling. Collaborate with faculty and administrative staff to assess course enrollment and may postpone the course if fewer than six students enroll.

Compensation Base salary range: $2,433.66 – $9,984.65 per semester. Salary decisions consider scope, units, experience, education, key skills, internal equity, legal statutes, contractual terms, grant funding, and market considerations.

Adjunct Appointment & Training Adjunct appointments are for faculty teaching less than full-time who are employed full-time elsewhere. Adjunct lecturers must complete mandated training (Harassment Prevention Training, Integrity & Accountability Code, Information Security, Workplace Violence Prevention Plan) by specified deadlines to remain in good standing.
