Director Quality in GAC Savannah

This position leads a team of Quality Control leaders and works closely with leaders across the enterprise. It focuses on developing key quality metrics, identifying risk, and driving improvement to product and process quality. The role emphasizes manufacturing quality standardization, compliance with regulatory and Quality Management System requirements, and strong communication and documentation skills.

Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. 10 years of experience leading large, complex manufacturing quality organizations and supporting Aerospace/Defense or automotive industries, including at least 4 years managing professional-level employees.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Gulfstream’s Quality organization in setting vision, strategy, and accountability, promoting standardization and process consistency.

Develop and implement quality strategies aligned with Gulfstream’s integrated production system and interior completions, ensuring compliance with FAA Part 21 & 145, EASA, AS9102 FAI, NADCAP, DoD, international customer regulations, and industry standards.

Coordinate manufacturing, inspection of aircraft assemblies, completions, component manufacturing, repair stations, and supplier quality functions across multiple sites.

Influence change through effective communication and facilitation of partnerships with business units to embed quality into product development, engineering change processes, and production transitions.

Chair or participate in product, manufacturing, or technical councils to advise on quality principles and implementation strategies.

Develop specialized quality oversight strategy, including roles within the Material Review Board and critical inspection characteristics in work plans to meet type design.

Ensure inspection functions are executed and embedded across shifts, facilities, and business units.

Establish and maintain an enterprise Personnel Qualification System with traceable training records and electronic controls based on authorized roles.

Execute NDT inspection services at Gulfstream and support supplier approval audits, maintaining program continuity with ASNT, NADCAP, and industry standards.

Provide oversight of manufacturing repair stations, flight test airworthiness activities, aircraft testing, conformity and configuration, and investigations into manufacturing in-service quality data.

Analyze defect trends, inspection escapes, and rework data to resolve quality issues in real time using formal tools such as FMEA, DMAIC, CAPA, and fault tree analysis.

Establish multi-year goal strategies and align them with enterprise objectives, flow down goals, and establish measurement methods.

Additional Functions

Ensure effective compliance, performance, and oversight of the Gulfstream QMS Quality Management System.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements

Demonstrated capabilities in creating high performing quality organizations with a proven track record of leading organizational performance change.

Experience in a highly regulated industry with knowledge of, and application to, 14 CFR Part 21 quality systems preferred.

Credit history check from a national credit bureau conducted for all candidates.

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
