Mechanical Engineer (ME Level I-III) Job Summary We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer (Level I-III) that excels in leading and executing multi‑discipline engineering projects from concept through production. Track and complete projects on time and within budget. Generate and maintain project and product requirements. Solve complex product and customer issues through root cause analysis, verification testing, and sound engineering principles. Manage and mentor junior engineers to share technical knowledge, best engineering practices, and guide them through the design process. Meet regularly with fellow engineers & cross‑functional teams to keep projects on track.
Responsibilities
Use 3D CAD (Solidworks) and sound engineering principles to design and document sterilizer product solutions for customers.
Lead and execute engineering projects through all design phases including production release.
Work with customers and internal cross‑functional teams to generate and maintain product and project requirements.
Create and maintain engineering drawings, BOMs, assembly work instructions, & product manuals.
Work with in‑house manufacturing and external vendors to fabricate designs from prototypes to production following the standard development process.
Follow the standard ECO process to document new designs and changes to existing designs.
Work and communicate with cross‑functional teams (manufacturing, field service, purchasing, etc.) to support changes to existing designs.
Participate in and lead design reviews.
Follow good design practices and quality procedures.
Familiar with and able to support engineering changes, NCMRs, CAPAs, and CIP initiatives.
Generate and execute test plans including design verification and reliability tests to validate new designs and changes to existing designs.
Mentor and supervise fellow engineers as needed to create shared knowledge, teach best practices, & complete engineering projects.
Help generate and maintain project budgets and timelines.
Identify future key projects to meet high‑level company goals.
Lead and execute continuous improvement activities to help bring the engineering department, manufacturing processes, and the company to the next level.
Requirements
BS in Mechanical Engineering and 2‑10+ years of work experience.
Able to multi‑task while remaining organized and possessing strong communication skills.
Self‑starter & team player willing to help out with any tasks.
Expert in using 3D CAD (Solidworks a plus).
Familiar with FEA (Solidworks Simulation a plus).
Expert knowledge of drafting, drawing, & doc control standards (GD&T a plus).
Fluency with design and detailing machine components, weldments, and sheet metal assemblies.
Familiarity with quality control procedures and standards (FDA experience a plus).
Experience with 2D CAD (AutoCAD) a plus.
Experience with ASME Boiler, Pressure Vessel Code, and Weldments a plus.
System level plumbing, piping, and instrumentation experience a plus.
Be mechanically inclined and have a strong mechanical aptitude.
Have an eagerness to learn and be a reliable team player.
Be very organized and have great communication skills.
Able to commute to and work in office (Billerica, MA).
On rare occasions, travel to customer locations (within USA) to support end‑user and field service technicians to resolve product issues.
This is for a permanent full-time position to start immediately.
Salary/Benefits Salary range is $80,000 to $150,000, commensurate with existing skills & experience.
