Job Description
The Municipal Engineer will assist in engineering design, coordination, and review services for public infrastructure projects including water and sewer infrastructure, water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, roads and drainage improvements. This position supports municipal clients through technical analysis, construction document preparation, and project oversight. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, collaborative, and committed to delivering high‑quality work for public sector projects. Job Functions
Assist in the design and preparation of plans for municipal infrastructure projects such as water and sewer infrastructure, water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, roads and drainage improvements. Coordinate and communicate with public works departments, regulatory agencies, and utility providers. Perform engineering analysis, cost estimates, and constructability reviews. Assist in preparation of bid documents, specifications, and contract documents. Review plans for compliance with local standards and municipal requirements. Participate in public meetings and provide technical support to municipal clients. Oversee construction progress, ensuring quality assurance and adherence to plans and specifications. Support preparation of funding and grant applications for public infrastructure projects. Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field. EIT certification required; PE license preferred. 1–5 years of experience in municipal or public infrastructure engineering. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of public works standards, permitting processes, and funding programs. Ability to work effectively with municipal clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams. Strong technical writing, organization, and interpersonal skills.
