Periodic for site visits, client meetings, and industry conferences. We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Pre-Construction Manager to lead preconstruction efforts for utility-scale solar EPC projects. This is a high-impact leadership role for a strategic thinker who excels in a fast-paced environment, manages complex portfolios, and is passionate about mentoring and developing a growing team. Key Responsibilities
Bid & Pursuit
Lead development of competitive proposals, ensuring alignment across Business Development, Engineering, Estimating, Scheduling, and Operations Clarify scope, schedule, and design criteria; identify risks and mitigation strategies Partner with BD and leadership to influence pursuit strategies and client negotiations, positioning the company for success Advocate for the customer, ensuring their goals and priorities are clearly understood and integrated into pursuit planning and decisions Pre-Award & Contracting
Negotiate LNTP and EPC contracts, resolving commercial and technical issues Oversee PSAs, POs, and subcontract agreements in partnership with Procurement Ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and risk profile while guiding critical decisions that balance business goals and team success Preconstruction Execution
Manage all preconstructionables, including Owner requirements, LNTP activities, and accurate billing and receipts Champion proactive risk management and continuous improvement, leveraging best practices to support team success and project outcomes Ensure seamless handover readiness by aligning design intent, commercial strategy, and risk profile for Operations Handover & Operations Support
Execute formal handover to Operations, providing context on design decisions, vendor selections, and contract terms Track buyout metrics and share insights to drive process improvement and future success. Leadership
Manage and mentor Preconstruction Manager(s), fostering their growth, supporting career development, and encouraging innovation. Cultivate a collaborative, high-performing team culture while partnering with leadership to shape strategy and market positioning Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, business, or related field. Extensive experience with EPC contracts and processes for utility-scale solar projects. Strong knowledge of scheduling, risk management, and budget/cash flow analysis. Proven leadership and communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities collaboratively.
