New Frontier Animal Medical Center
Whether you are an experienced veterinarian seeking a fulfilling career or a newer doctor seeking mentorship, Pawleys Veterinary Hospital has a place for you! We are now seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join our team.
Pawleys Veterinary Hospital, located on Pawleys Island, South Carolina, is less than 5 minutes from the beautiful beaches of the South Strand! We have a large number of excellent restaurants, a river walk, and a marsh walk all within a 15–20 minute drive. North of town, Brookgreen Gardens has a zoo and a collection of world‑class outdoor sculptures, elaborate gardens, and hosts a variety of cultural events throughout the year. Across the street, Huntington Beach State Park is home to a large campground, a Moorish‑style castle, walking trails, wetlands, and a beach with lifeguards during the summer season. It is a favorite location for birdwatchers year‑round, and alligators can be easily found during the warmer months. If you are looking for more attractions, Myrtle Beach is just a short 30‑minute drive north, and Charleston, with all its culture and history, is just 90 minutes south of town. Perhaps the best part of Pawleys Island is its small‑town, laid‑back atmosphere, even during the height of the summer visitor season. The schools' K‑12 are highly rated and are all within a 2.5‑mile radius of each other. Pawleys Island is known for its arrogantly shabby charm.
As an Associate Veterinarian, you will enjoy:
Base Salary + production
$10,000 relocation bonus
Benefits package including health, dental, vision, ancillary coverage & 401(k)
Attractive PTO and a work schedule that encourages a healthy work‑life balance. A weekday off and rotating Saturdays (half‑day) are possible with a typical work schedule.
After‑hour emergencies are referred to a local emergency clinic – no after‑hours call is required.
$2,500 allowance and time off for continuing education and state licensing, DEA, liability insurance and association membership dues are also provided.
The Associate Veterinarian is responsible for the medical and surgical care of our patients. This includes maintaining good client relationships through effective communication regarding their pets’ health and medical needs. Medical records are maintained in an accurate manner, and estimates are presented to clients in advance of care, as appropriate. The Associate Veterinarian is considered a member of the hospital’s leadership team and is therefore responsible for promoting the hospital’s core values and culture.
Skills and Qualifications:
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, or equivalent
Licensure in good standing to practice in the state of South Carolina (or eligible for a temporary license pending a permanent license)
Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics
Excellent verbal and written communication, ability to be empathetic and compassionate, and outstanding collaboration with other members of the Pawleys Veterinary Hospital family
