Position: Athletic Trainer (10-Month, Full-Time with Benefits)

We are searching for a Certified Athletic Trainer (AT) to join our dynamic athletics department and sports medicine program. The ideal candidate is a skilled, compassionate professional dedicated to the health and well-being of student-athletes and committed to collaboration within a caring school community. The Athletic Trainer will work closely with another full-time ATC, the Director of Health Services, and the Athletics staff to deliver exceptional medical care and injury prevention for our Saints athletic program.
This is a 10-month position with benefits. We are looking for someone to start immediately through the end of the spring athletic season (late May). Regular hours are approximately 2:00 p.m. until the conclusion of practices and competitions (7:00/8:00 p.m.), with flexibility based on the athletic schedule. Some weekend coverage required. Some local travel may be required.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive athletic training services, including prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and conditions.
Coverage for practices, home competitions, and select off-campus events as assigned.
Maintain accurate injury documentation and medical records using the Magnus Health system.
Collaborate with the Director of Health Services, team physicians, and local medical providers to coordinate care and manage return-to-play decisions.
Follow the school’s emergency action plans (EAPs) for athletic venues and participate in EAP practice drills.
Educate student-athletes, coaches, and families on injury prevention, concussion awareness, and safe training practices.
Support CPR/AED and health-related training for coaches and staff.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Applied Knowledge: Broad understanding of sports medicine, athletic injuries, and treatment protocols.
Decision-Making: Ability to think critically and make independent clinical judgments within state licensure guidelines. Attention to Detail: Strong organization and documentation skills to ensure accurate medical records.
Interpersonal Skills: Effective and professional communication with student-athletes, coaches, parents, and medical professionals in high-pressure situations.
Organization: Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Athletic Training or related field.
BOC Certification required; eligible for Virginia licensure.
Red Cross Instructor certification for First Aid/CPR/AED (or willingto complete instructor training).
