Job Summary:
The Clinical Research Nurse, ensures that the health and safety of research participants and the integrity and quality of clinical trials, are maintained and conducted in accordance with federal, state, IRB, departmental, and institutional regulations, policies and procedures. The Clinical Research Nurse will primarily provide nursing expertise and care to research study patient management with primary focus on bone marrow transplantation and cellular therapy clinical trial protocols. They will ensure compliance to study protocols, may participate in feasibility evaluation, recruitment, consenting and enrollment activities, perform medical tests and procedures to facilitate study patient visits, provide investigational medication education and training, administer treatments, support side effect and adverse event monitoring, coordinate data collection, documentation and reporting, as applicable. In collaboration with research teams, they will support and provide direction in internal and external monitoring and auditing activities. They will serve as a liaison and work closely with investigators, department members, study sponsors, IRB and the institution, to support administration of compliance, financial, personnel and other related aspects of all ongoing clinical studies. Additional duties may be assigned to support incoming projects, department, and institutional needs. In collaboration with multidisciplinary researchers, they may drive research programs through nursing lens and perspective to integrate new advances in clinical trials management. The role requires excellent planning and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work in a changing, multiple-demand setting in order to prioritize a large volume of work and meet deadlines efficiently and accurately. Strong interprofessional collaboration, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work with a diverse group of people, including physicians, patients and families, are essential. Qualifications: College Degree - 4 year Nursing (required) Masters Degree (preferred) RN - Registered Nurse License - CA-BRN - California Board of Registered Nursing (required) CCRP - Certified Clinical Research Professional - SOCRA - Society of Clinical Research Associates (preferred) Minimum two (2) years Experience in Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant/Hematology-Oncology Nursing (required) Minimum one (1) year Research experience (preferred) Experience with clinical trials is strongly preferred. Knowledge of Institutional Review Board (IRB) policies and procedures. Computer Skills Microsoft Office.
