Come Join the Winning Team! Carpenter & Paterson, Inc. is currently hiring for a full-time Design/Mechanical Engineer to work out of one of our offices in Waggaman, LA. The Design Engineer coordinates with sales, estimating, purchasing, & fabrication to engineering jobs meet quality standards & design.
Apply principles of mechanics of materials, heat transfer, and material sciences.
Drafting and implementing destructive test procedures (pipe supports) which follow MSS SP-58 guidelines.
Design and fabrication of shop testing rigs and/or fixtures.
Confirm system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods, testing properties.
Estimating on conceptual design jobs including material takeoff and value engineering.
Document Control: Updating the design records for ISO9001 Quality plan.
Interaction with customers in regard to the technical aspects of their project.
Days/Shift:
Monday thru Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm
Ideal Candidate:
A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Certificate holder
Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software – Solidworks, Ansys
Experience with Design and analysis of piping systems and supports.
Software Requirements: Windows OS, Microsoft Excel & Word, AutoCAD 2D, Solidworks 3D
Weekly pay
Competitive hourly pay based on previous experience
