Production Manager - 1st Shift
New Berlin, WI. We are a leading manufacturer looking for a first shift Production Supervisor to join our team.
Responsibilities
Executes the production plan.
Plans the daily activities for production personnel and monitors daily production numbers to meet the production schedule.
Supports the hiring and selection process of production personnel.
Ensures operators are meeting quality standards by adhering to standardized quality checks.
Oversees the training and cross-training of operators and facilitates regular check-ins to review progress and adjust training plans as needed.
Provides direction to operators, including setting performance standards, monitoring performance, conducting disciplinary actions, and providing feedback through our performance appraisal process.
Assists with regular safety inspections to ensure OSHA compliance.
Ensures shop floor cleanliness.
Maintains stock levels to meet production requirements, including raw materials, production supplies, packaging materials, and finished goods.
Directs and controls the activities of production on the off shifts.
Required Credentials
High school diploma or equivalent.
Bachelor's degree in business management, operations management, engineering, or related field is preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role.
Prior manufacturing experience in a fast‑paced environment is required.
Required Knowledge
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality management systems, and manufacturing principles.
Knowledge of CNC and milling operations.
Proficiency with Microsoft applications.
Knowledge of ERP systems.
Required Skills
Effective leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
Ability to work with a sense of urgency.
Ability to develop trust, respect, and cooperation with production personnel.
Demonstrates strong attention to detail.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred, but not required.
