Position Overview The Accounting Manager will oversee accounting operations for multiple regions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across financial processes. This role requires a seasoned professional with deep expertise in audit management, process optimization, strong analytical skills and team leadership. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, multi-entity environment and demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, strategic thinking, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.

Key Responsibilities

Audit Ownership & Forensic Review:

Leverage deep audit expertise to conduct internal audits focused on uncovering missed or unrecorded revenues, applying forensic accounting techniques to identify discrepancies, irregularities, and potential revenue leakage. This includes analyzing complex transactions, validating financial integrity, and ensuring compliance while proactively safeguarding company assets.

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple regions. Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.

Process Optimization & Automation:

Develop and implement efficiencies in accounting workflows and internal controls. Recommend and create processes to improve accuracy and timeliness, leveraging automation tools and online systems (e.g., Ramp, SAP Concur Expense Management, Power BI).

Team Leadership:

Supervise and mentor accounting staff across regions, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and strategic growth.

Systems & Tools Management:

Manage and optimize Intuit Enterprise Suite (IES) for accounting operations. Ensure proper integration of accounting systems with other business platforms.

Accounts Receivable & Payable Oversight:

Oversee AR/AP teams, commission reconciliation, monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, and remote deposits/ACH transactions.

Compliance & Documentation:

Maintain lease and contract documentation, ensure accuracy of fixed asset records, and oversee annual business licenses, tax filings, and regulatory reports (e.g., USDA PACA, PCORI).

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Partner with operations, finance, and executive leadership to support company growth and strategic initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Experience

Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including audit ownership and multi-state/multi-entity financial oversight.

Prior experience in a mid-market company ($20–$100M) is required

Experience in sales agency/food broker environments highly desirable

Experience leading a team of finance professionals

Technical Skills

Proficiency in Intuit Enterprise Suite (IES), SAP Concur/Ramp, Power BI, and advanced Excel skills

Strong understanding of GAAP and audit standards

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline

What to Expect

Monday–Friday, 8am to 5pm in office; hybrid flexibility after initial training

No travel required except for rare continuing education opportunities
