Job Description Description: Position Summary: The LTL & Truckload Pricing Analyst is responsible for analyzing, developing, and maintaining pricing strategies and rate proposals for both Less-Than-Truckload (LTL) and Full Truckload (FTL) transportation services. This role supports the sales and operations teams by delivering competitive pricing solutions, performing margin analysis, and providing market intelligence to drive profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities: Develop LTL and Truckload pricing strategies Analyze and price transportation – LTL and Truckload shipments Support internal sales team with pricing initiatives Consistently oversee and review pricing of lanes and make recommendations to achieve maximum profitability. Regular collaboration with Sales and Account Management teams to ensure pricing aligns with customer expectations. Partner with leadership team to provide pricing insights and market updates.
Requirements:
Qualifications: 1-2 years of experience in logistics pricing, transportation analysis, or freight brokerage. Strong understanding of LTL rating logic (NMFC, base rates, FAKs, accessorials) and truckload spot/contract pricing. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and advanced formulas. Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills: Experience working in a 3PL or freight brokerage environment. Experience with TMS systems, carrier portals, and pricing software/tools (e.g., SMC³, RateWare, DAT, Truckstop) is highly desirable. Familiarity with transportation RFP software (e.g., Jaggaer, Coupa, or similar). Basic understanding of margin management and cost modeling principles.
