JOB SUMMARY

The Product Development SoftwareTeam is responsible for best-in-class Automated Distribution and WirelessCommunication products for improving the Smart Electric Grids resiliency andreliability. Software Architects report to the Sr Manager of System & SoftwareArchitecture, and work in a department that is chartered to refine requirementsand architecture for intelligent embedded software devices, systemapplications, and accompanying communication subsystems. The Software Architect(Cybersecurity) is responsible for all activities carried out in support ofmaintaining a secure computing environment for team members, suppliers, andcustomers.

Theresponsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, thefollowing:

  • Definesoftware requirements and architecture of secure products in line with companysecure product development requirements.
  • Assist withand provide recommendations on implementing cyber security strategies,conducting reviews of existing technologies and systems cyber security implementation
  • Ability tocollaborate in a fast paced and dynamic work environment, as part of aself-sufficient independent contributor and potential project lead in ateam of System and Product Architects
  • Analyze andtrack cyber security trends and emerging technologies.
  • Collaboratewith Cybersecurity Product Management, Software Engineering and Test teamson product and solutions roadmaps, engineering estimations, and tacticalproject execution related to product security
  • Decomposemarketing requirements into authored system level requirements andarchitectural artifacts
  • Oversee andreview the traceability from system level requirements and architecturalabstractions to individual network element requirements and detailedarchitecture descriptions
  • Definitionof high-level field deployment guidelines used by field service teams
  • Drive orparticipate in unique customer specific solutions
  • Take ahands-on approach (down to the software code level as necessary) with theproduct implementations to define and deliver appropriate requirements andarchitectural solutions
  • Have astrong and proven leadership ability
  • Collaboratewith Engineering (hardware, electronic, software development & test)to deliver reliable, mission critical solutions and products
  • Participatein and occasionally lead the frontend of the development process of aproject through implementation of Company Product Development processesand monitoring adherence through various milestones gates
  • Develop,document, and communicate relevant cyber security policies andprocedures.
  • Collaborateand lead continuous improvement efforts to ensure continuous quality andcustomer satisfaction improvement.

Toselect this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have thefollowing:

  • BS Degree inElectrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science ordemonstrated equivalent, an MS or higher degree preferred
  • Ten or moreyears as a system or product level architect with five or more yearsworking in the cybersecurity area
  • Understandingof security architecture for infrastructure components as well asapplications and data.
  • Understandingof security technologies and security threats
  • Understandingof security protocols such as HTTPS, TLS, SSL, SSH, PKI, IPSEC, VPN andtheir interactions
  • Understandingof Cloud and SAAS Cybersecurity
  • Ability torun and configure cybersecurity testing tools like Dependency Track,Dependency Check and analyze the results.
  • Understandingof NIST and NERC CIP cybersecurity framework
  • Experienceof cybersecurity vulnerability monitoring and related tools
  • Experiencewith real-time embedded software for intelligent devices and Windowsapplication software development.
  • Experiencewith proprietary and standards-based control system protocol design
  • Definitionof network element software architecture
  • COTSsoftware integration including third-party platforms and operating systems
  • InternetProtocol v4,v6, Network routing implementations, Network protocols
  • Linux,Android, and iOS operating systems is a PLUS
  • Detail-orientedand logical thinker with strong analytical skills; Excellent written andverbal communication skills
  • Up to 5%potential travel per year

Relevant Experience Required: This is an experienced position. Looking for a candidatewilling to be a hands-on cybersecurity architect of a team of softwareengineers working on first-of-a-kind products. Must have a laser focus on thetimeliness of the product release while maintaining a robust and reliablequality focused development process. Be willing to partner with otherengineering teams to create innovative ways to automate and expand our softwareprocess to ultimately drive improved product quality and speedierdelivery.Past or current membership of relevant consortiums that drivecertification requirements and research of current trends.
