STS Technical Services is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to support a growing manufacturing operation in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being close to the production floor, solving real-time challenges, and helping engineered-to-order products move efficiently from concept to completion.
You will play a hands-on role supporting daily production, improving processes, and collaborating across engineering, industrial engineering, and manufacturing teams.
Position Overview The Manufacturing Engineer supports day-to-day production and technical activities related to engineered-to-order products. This position focuses on process improvement, documentation, production support, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure quality, safety, and on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities Support daily production and resolve technical issues related to engineered-to-order products
Create and maintain standard operating procedures capturing current production processes
Implement safety, ergonomic, and production rate improvements
Develop, audit, and continuously improve department quality and production goals
Serve as a technical point of contact for supervisors and production operators
Read and interpret technical drawings and customer requirements
Create manufacturing plans that meet customer specifications
Utilize ERP software to guide production processes and cost tracking
Work directly with production departments to ensure strong process flow
Identify and support cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborate with Industrial Engineering on projects and process optimization
Support customer requirements with a focus on quality and on-time delivery
Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications Ability to quickly become familiar with manufacturing processes
Interest in working primarily in a fast-paced production environment
Ability to manage multiple projects with changing priorities
Ability to read and understand technical prints and specifications
Comfortable working independently and within cross-functional teams
Interest or experience using ERP software in a manufacturing environment
Entry-level to three years of manufacturing or engineering experience preferred
Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or related field preferred
Ability to sign non-compete and confidentiality agreements
Must pass a competency test and pre-employment physical, including drug screening
