Key Responsibilities
Source, evaluate, and select suppliers for raw materials, components, and MRO items.
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings and favorable conditions.
Place purchase orders and expedite deliveries to ensure on-time material availability for production.
Monitor supplier performance, manage relationships, and resolve supply chain issues.
Collaborate with production and engineering to forecast material needs and optimize inventory levels.
Ensure all purchased materials and services comply with quality standards and specifications.
Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in procurement processes.
Recommended Qualifications
3-5+ years of direct purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for procurement and inventory management.
Demonstrated strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier relationship development skills.
Ability to interpret technical specifications, blueprints, and understand manufacturing processes.
Proven track record of cost savings, lead time reduction, and supply chain optimization.
Bonus Qualifications
Ability to interpret technical drawings or blueprints
Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles
Advanced proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP S/4HANA or Oracle
Certification in negotiation or supply chain management
