Overview As an Ocean Import Operations Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and timely import of shipments for our valued customers. This position offers a dynamic blend of operational responsibility, customer interaction, and compliance expertise in a fast-paced, international environment.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and ensure timely import shipment processing
Optimize and document operational procedures and workflows
Provide expert support and consultation to customers
Manage customs clearance and related documentation
Communicate with customers, agents, and service providers
Prepare and follow up on quotations; conduct sales negotiations
Process and secure customer invoices
Monitor deadlines and ensure accurate invoicing
Prepare Letters of Credit, Bills of Lading, delivery notes, customs documents, etc.
Handle Dangerous Goods shipments in full compliance with applicable regulations
Qualifications
Completed commercial apprenticeship in international forwarding
3-5 years of professional experience in ocean freight forwarding
Fluent Germany and English (spoken and written); additional European languages are a plus
Quick comprehension and a precise, reliable working style
Independent, efficient, and accurate work ethic
Enthusiastic team player with a proactive mindset
