German Audit & Tax Associate - Atlanta, GA

Who: We are seeking an organized and proactive associate with strong German and English communication skills and a foundation in accounting.

What:You will support audit engagements, assist in preparing tax returns, perform technical research, and deliver high-quality audit and tax compliance services to German manufacturing and distribution clients.

When: This is a full-time position available for immediate hire.

Position Overview:

The German Associate (Audit & Tax) will support audit and tax engagements for German-owned U.S. subsidiaries, assist with tax return preparation, conduct technical research, and communicate closely with team leaders and clients to ensure accurate and timely deliverables.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform audit engagements for clients across manufacturing and distribution industries.

- Develop and execute audit programs by setting objectives, identifying risks, evaluating controls, and designing test procedures.

- Assist with preparing tax returns and related client communications.

- Prepare Federal and state corporate, partnership, and individual tax returns.

- Perform technical accounting research across various topics.

- Deliver high-quality services and work products.

- Maintain active communication with clients and team members to ensure expectations are met.

- Prepare clear, concise workpapers and documentation.

- Manage workload priorities and provide status updates to supervisors.

Qualifications:

- Proficient German written and verbal communication skills.

- BA/BS in Accounting or Master's in Accounting/Taxation.

- Strong English writing, research, and communication skills.

- Analytical, process-driven mindset with strong problem-solving skills.

- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.

Preferred Qualifications:

- CPA license or in progress.

- Public accounting experience (internships or entry-level roles).

- Experience with ProSystem fx Engagement or CCH Axcess.
