American Traveler is hiring an experienced Certified Surgical First Assistant for a CVOR position requiring GA or compact RN licensure and significant cardiac, vascular, endovascular, and thoracic experience.

Job Details

- Position is in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) setting,

- Care for cardiac, vascular, endovascular, and thoracic patients as a first assistant in surgery,

- Day shift with 3x12 hour schedule from 6:30 to 19:00,

- Call required one day per week and one weekend every four weeks, subject to departmental needs,

- Potential to float within facility and to Main OR as needed,

Job Requirements

- Active GA or compact RN license required at time of consideration,

- Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) credential from NBSTSA or NCCSA required,

- Minimum 3 years of cardiac, vascular, endovascular, and thoracic experience; 5 years preferred,

- Candidates must complete a privileging process prior to start, requiring approximately 120 days,

- Two supervisory references from a manager or higher required for consideration,

Additional Information

- Responsible for first assistant duties in cardiac, vascular, endovascular, and thoracic surgeries,

- Must be available to complete all compliance and scheduling requirements within 48 hours of contract signature,

- Holiday work required according to facility policy; no holiday time off may be requested unless specified by major holiday rules,

- Maximum of 7 days requested time off, not permitted during the first week of assignment,

- First-time travelers are welcome to apply,

- Former perm or PRN employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler,

- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate,

- No blocked scheduling and travel pairs cannot be assigned the same shift on the same unit,

- Non-billable orientation modules will be completed during orientation,
