PURPOSE:
The Accounting Specialist supports the financial operations of a newly established manufacturing facility. This role works closely with the CFO and collaborates with cross-functional teams in the U.S. and Italy to ensure accurate financial reporting, cost control, and compliance. The ideal candidate has a strong manufacturing finance background, experience working in SAP, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
DUTIES :
* Prepare, analyze, and maintain accurate financial records in SAP, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly close activities.
* Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in accordance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
* Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for manufacturing operations.
* Track and analyze manufacturing costs, including labor, materials, overhead, and variances.
* Support standard cost development and maintenance within SAP.
* Collaborate with operations to improve cost visibility and financial controls.
* Work closely with the Italian finance operations teams to align financial processes, reporting requirements, and timelines.
* Participate in cross-functional meetings and support global reporting initiatives.
* Assist with intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and documentation.
* Support internal controls and financial policies to ensure compliance with company standards.
* Assist with audits, providing documentation and explanations as needed.
* Help implement and define finance processes as the facility scales.
* Provide financial analysis and support for business decisions and special projects.
* Support system enhancements, process improvements, and SAP best practices.
* Perform additional finance-related duties as assigned by the CFO.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS :
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
* 3-5 years of experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
* SAP experience preferred.
* Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a start-up or growth-oriented manufacturing environment.
* Experience working with international teams or global organizations.
* Manufacturing cost accounting experience.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Effective communication skills, including collaboration with international teams.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
* Continuous improvement mindset.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
* On-site presence at our facility in Trotwood, OH.
* Occasional meetings outside standard business hours to support collaboration with our Italian team.
* May require limited travel, domestic or international.
* Will require successful completion of a drug screen and background check.
