TLC Nursing Associates, Inc. is seeking a skilled and focused Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) to provide perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing complex cardiovascular surgical procedures. The CVOR RN is responsible for maintaining a sterile environment, supporting the surgical team, and ensuring patient safety throughout the operative process.
Job Responsibilities
* Prepare CVOR suites with sterile equipment and supplies according to the surgical procedure plan.
* Circulate, scrub, or assist in cardiovascular surgeries such as CABG, valve replacements, aortic repairs, and other open-heart procedures.
* Monitor patient condition intraoperatively and coordinate with anesthesia and surgical teams.
* Ensure proper handling of surgical specimens, instruments, and devices.
* Follow strict infection control and safety protocols throughout the operative and perioperative phases.
* Document patient care activities, medications, and procedural notes accurately.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support continuity of care before and after surgery.
Qualifications
* Active RN license in good standing.
* Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN preferred).
* Minimum 2 years of experience in CVOR or cardiac surgery OR nursing.
* Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; CNOR certification is a plus.
* Expertise in sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and cardiovascular anatomy.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced surgical environment.
