What Supply Chain Product Management contributes to Cardinal Health
Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.
Supply Chain Product Management is responsible for identifying, recommending, designing and implementing new solutions for the Supply Chain organization including new technology features, practices, processes, metrics or models. Supply Chain Product Management develops the strategic vision, supporting business case, and financials for new products. Manages project timelines and budgets.
The Manager of Transportation Product Management will oversee a team dedicated to sustaining and advancing technology solutions within the transportation organization of Cardinal Health’s pharmaceutical distribution network. This role will manage enhancements and sustainment of the recently launched Transportation Management System (TMS) and lead initiatives to enhance freight and product visibility, delivery consolidation services, optimize contract lifecycle management, and implement strategic technological advancements. The leader will work cross-functionally with transportation operations, IT, and business stakeholders to ensure solutions deliver measurable value, scalability, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration.
Build long-term capability through talent management and succession planning.
Build and develop a high-performing team focused on long-term capability and expertise.
Oversee ongoing performance and optimization of the Transportation Management System.
Drive visibility roadmap to bring more insights from transportation across the network to advance the Visibility Hoshin objective to enhance customer experience and mitigate risk of theft and/or product loss.
Lead enhancements to delivery consolidation services (billing, customer onboarding) and evaluate contract lifecycle management solutions.
Translate transportation strategy into actionable technology plans and ensure timely execution.
Manage investments in enterprise platforms and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Partner with transportation operations, IT, and procurement teams to deliver integrated solutions.
Facilitate communication and alignment across multiple stakeholder groups.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with technology initiatives.
Ensure fiduciary oversight of assets and manage budgets for technology investments.
Drive adoption of best practices in product management and Agile methodologies.
Ensure initiatives scale effectively across the enterprise.
Qualifications
8+ years of Supply Chain Product Management or related experience, preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field, preferred
Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex initiatives, preferred
Strong leadership and talent development capabilities
Advanced communication and stakeholder management skills
Expertise in risk management, financial oversight, and ROI analysis
Familiarity with TMS platforms and Agile methodologies
