About the Opportunity:
We're seeking an experienced and detail-driven Project Manager to lead educational and commercial projects from design through construction. Based in Atlanta, GA , this role offers the opportunity to work on meaningful, community-impacting developments.
This position is ideal for candidates with a Construction Management , Architecture , or Engineering background-particularly those experienced with managing teams and navigating complex project requirements in a collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Serve as the primary liaison with clients and end users-anticipate needs, manage expectations, and provide consistent communication through project lifecycle
* Coordinate all phases of design and construction with internal teams and external stakeholders
* Lead project meetings, progress check-ins, and collaborative problem-solving sessions
* Manage contract documents, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and amendments
* Review and respond to testing reports, correspondence, and progress documentation
* Oversee project timelines, budgets, and documentation, ensuring adherence to standards
* Ensure successful close-out processes for construction activities
* Lead pre-bid conferences and support vendor/consultant selection
* Manage claims and risk for construction, design, or third-party consultants
* Ensure accurate maintenance of project files, time logs, and financial records
Financial Responsibilities:
* Review and process contractor pay applications, invoices, and wage/rate schedules
* Validate and monitor project budgets and funding sources
* Approve project schedules and final disbursements
* Maintain accurate travel and expense documentation
* Identify and report potential financial risks
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management , Engineering , Architecture , or a related field
* 5+ years of Project Management or Quality Assurance experience in commercial or educational construction
* Strong understanding of project budgeting, scheduling, and construction administration
* Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills
* Comfortable managing multiple stakeholders across disciplines
* Proficiency in reviewing plans, specs, and contract documents
* Experience with construction technology and administrative processes
* Strong preference for candidates with a Construction Management background; also open to those with Architectural , Mechanical , or Electrical Engineering degrees, especially with design firm experience
