Travel RN - Operating Room - Cardiovascular OR/CVOR

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVOR Operating Room position with required scrub experience and Level I Trauma background.

Job Details

- Position is in a hospital-based Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR),

- Cases include heart and lung transplants, aortic dissections, and ECMO,

- Requires scrubbing for cardiovascular and peripheral vascular cases,

- Candidates will float to other OR specialties as needed,

- Day shift schedule with 8-hour shifts (6:30am-3:00pm), and call required (approx. 100 hrs/6 weeks, one call weekend per 6 weeks),

- Uses Cerner electronic medical records system,

Job Requirements

- Active IN or compact state RN license; pending license accepted if acquired before start,

- Minimum 2 years' recent CVOR RN experience with scrubbing required,

- BLS certification required (AHA or RQI accepted and current),

- Degree from a nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation,

- Experience working with heart and lung transplants, aortic dissections, and ECMO required,

- Level I Trauma experience required for first-time travelers,

Additional Information

- Main responsibilities include scrubbing and circulating for cardiovascular procedures in a high-acuity OR,

- Must be comfortable working with heart and lung transplant patients,

- Expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays,

- Up to 5 days of requested time off may be auto-approved,

- Locals are accepted for this position,

- First-time travelers may be considered if they meet trauma experience requirements,

- Employees previously employed perm or PRN must be separated from the health system for at least 12 months prior to applying as a traveler,
