JOB TITLE: Coordinator-Career and Technical Education
REPORTS TO: Director-Career and Technical Education
WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Exempt
PAY GRADE: AI 3
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Coordinate district career and technical education programs to meet student needs and serve as an instructional leader in development and improvement of instructional programs in career and technical education.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
* Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university
* Five years' successful career and technical teaching experience
* Supervision of workplace learning activities
Preferred:
* Master's degree from an accredited college or university
* Five years 'classroom experience
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
* Working knowledge of federal and state codes governing career and technical education
* Understanding of curriculum and instruction
* Ability to evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
* Ability to coordinate district functions
* Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data
* Strong organizational, managerial, communication, and interpersonal skills
* Ability to supervise, plan, and present staff development
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Instructional Program Coordination
* Coordinate instructional, curriculum and staff development efforts to meet student, teacher and program needs
* Use collaborative processes and problem-solving techniques to meet program goals
* Assist in establishing and reviewing program goals and objectives
* Plan and provide effective staff development activities based on input from teachers and administrators.
* Coordinate career exploration and awareness resources, activities and testing materials to all campuses
* Coordinate local career opportunities for students to include industry certification opportunities, internships, mentorships, job shadowing and cooperative education activities
* Coordinate Career and Technical Education Student Organization activities and travel
* Coordinate career awareness opportunities including the annual CTE recruiting events and activities across the district.
Policy, Reports, and Law
* Compile, maintain, and present required reports, records, and documents for cooperative education programs and student organization.
Communication
* Provide for communication among principals, teachers, staff, parents, and community
* Assist students, parents, teachers and counselors with career, college, certification, and scholarship information.
Community Relations
* Articulate the program goals and needs to the community and coordinate support
* Coordinate efforts of Advisory Committees and Focus Groups on the implementation of new programs and assist with program reviews
* Perform all other duties as assigned
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling,
pushing, and pulling. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other
classroom or adaptive equipment. May be required to lift and position students with physical
disabilities; control behavior through physical.
