Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager (APM/PE)
Commercial Ground-Up Construction | Joint Venture Project - Atlanta Metro
Overview
We are seeking a Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager to support a joint venture commercial ground-up construction project in the Atlanta Metro area . This role will be involved from preconstruction through active construction on a new multi-level parking deck project. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and eager to grow within a commercial construction environment.
Responsibilities
Preconstruction Phase
* Assist with project budgets, estimates, and quantity takeoffs
* Support design coordination, constructability reviews, and value engineering efforts
* Help develop and maintain project schedules, including procurement and long-lead items
* Assist with bid package preparation, subcontractor outreach, and proposal review
* Track RFIs and maintain organized project documentation
Construction Phase
* Support the Project Manager with daily project administration
* Assist with subcontractor coordination, submittals, RFIs, and change orders
* Coordinate with field supervision to ensure work aligns with plans, schedule, and safety requirements
* Attend project meetings and prepare/distribute meeting minutes
* Track project costs, commitments, and budget updates
* Assist with quality control, punch list activities, and project closeout documentation
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
* 1-4+ years of experience in commercial ground-up construction preferred
* Strong organizational and communication skills
* Ability to work collaboratively in a joint venture environment
* Proficiency with construction documentation and project controls
