TITLE : Teacher
JOB DESCRIPTION:
To create a flexible elementary and middle school grade program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; establish effective rapport with pupils; motivate pupils to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation in accordance with each pupil's ability; establish good relationships with parents and with other staff members.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor Degree
* Arizona Elementary Teacher certification. (Early Childhood endorsement OR Early Childhood certification needed for Kindergarten positions)
* Provisional SEI or full Bilingual or ESL endorsement

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
* Demonstrate teaching skills and knowledge in assigned academic area, utilizing course of study adopted by the Governing Board and other appropriate learning activities.
* Instruct pupils in subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school district.
* Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
* Evaluate pupil's academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports.
* Communicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss pupil's progress and interpret the school program.
* Identify pupil needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health, attitude and learning problems.
* Create an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards and interest centers.
* Maintain professional competence through in-service professional development activities provided by the district and/or self-selected professional growth activities.
* Select and requisition instructional aids and materials; maintain required inventory records.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
