Job Summary

Our client is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to coordinate medical record retrieval, manage referrals and prior authorizations, and assist during telehealth appointments. The role involves ensuring the accuracy and compliance of electronic health records, facilitating communication between patients and care teams, and supporting care coordination efforts.

Key Responsibilities

* Coordinate medical record retrieval for provider review.

* Prepare and process referrals and manage prior authorizations.

* Virtually greet and room patients prior to telehealth appointments.

* Review and update patient records in EHR, ensuring accuracy and HIPAA compliance.

* Serve as liaison between patients, caregivers, and care teams.

* Assist neurologists and advanced practice providers during virtual encounters.

* Communicate with insurance companies and internal departments to resolve issues.

* Support care coordination by identifying barriers to care and escalating issues.

* Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

* Lives in EST Time Zone.

* CMA or RMA certification.

* Ability and/or experience working with the elderly population.

Experience

* 3+ years of Medical Assistant experience.

* At least 1 year of telehealth Medical Assistant experience.

* Experience rooming patients virtually.

* Preferred: Several years of virtual medical assistant or care coordination experience.

* Preferred: Experience within neurology.

Additional Requirements

* Flexible schedule coordination with doctors, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm EST.

* Must reside and work in EST hours.
