Key Responsibilities
Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
Source, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers to ensure a robust supply chain.
Generate and manage purchase orders for raw materials, components, and MRO items.
Monitor supplier performance for quality, delivery, and cost-effectiveness.
Collaborate with production and planning to forecast material needs and maintain optimal inventory levels.
Identify and implement cost-reduction strategies without compromising quality or delivery.
Resolve discrepancies related to invoices, quality issues, and delivery delays.
Recommended Qualifications
Direct purchasing experience (3-5+ years) in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems for purchasing, inventory, and production planning.
Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and Bills of Material (BOMs).
Understanding of supply chain principles, logistics, and inventory management.
Bonus Qualifications
Technical understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, or components.
Experience with international sourcing, logistics and Incoterms.
Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., CPSM, CPIM).
Proficiency with advanced ERP functionalities for forecasting or inventory optimization.
