As a Pharmacy Technician, you will assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining drug inventory, and providing excellent patient care in an acute care setting.
As a Pharmacy Technician, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:
* Receive and process prescription orders
* Measure, mix, count, label, and record dosages of medications
* Prepare IV medications under sterile conditions (if applicable)
* Verify prescription information with prescribers and insurance companies when needed
* Assist in maintaining accurate medication inventory and ordering supplies
* Package and label prescriptions accurately
* Deliver medications to appropriate departments or patient care areas
* Assist patients at the pharmacy counter with prescription pick-up and questions
* Maintain clean and organized work areas
* Follow all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures regarding pharmacy operations
The ideal candidate must have at least one year of experience as a Pharmacy Technician. Additionally, they should possess a current BLS certification and hold the CPhT National Certification. Must be good standing with the State's board of pharmacy.
Pharmacy Technicians should be able to stand or walk for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and possess strong attention to detail and communication skills.
Requirements*: BLS, PTCB (CPhT), 2 Years
