We are a pediatric non-profit organization seeking a frontdesk billing associate to join our professional team. The front desk billingassociate presents the first impression of the organization to clients andtheir families. The front desk billing associate will attend to visitorsonsite, respond to inquiries on the phone and face to face and supplyinformation regarding the organization to the general public, clients, andfamilies. Billing associate will manage all matters and communication relativeto insurance claims on behalf of Texas Hearing Institute.

Position Information:

HoursWeekly: 40

Monday - Friday

StartingSalary: Determined by experience.

FLSAStatus: Non-exempt

Responsibilities / Duties:

- Answer telephone and screen voice mails anddirect calls.

- Take and relay messages.

- Provide information to callers.

- Greet people entering the organization.

- Direct persons to the correct destination

- Answer queries from the public and clients.

- Ensure knowledge of staff movements in and outof organization

- Monitor visitor access and maintain security awareness.

- Monitor reception area for cleanliness tidy areaat front desk.

- Provide general administrative and clerical support.

- Receive and distribute deliveries.

- Verify patient insurance.

- Check in clients.

- Check out clients and take payment on occasion.

- Monitor and maintain office equipment.

- Control inventory relevant to reception area.

- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

- Maximizing revenue and reducing contractualallowances/ discounts/ MWS and other (grants) write offs at all times.

- File all THI appeals, and corrected claims as needed.

- Reducing patient balances, collectingoutstanding balances with invoicing, or at check in .

- Assist with Entering and posting all servicerelated (program) payments into IMS software.

- Regularly reviews all clients accounts and keepthem clean, including notifying clients of balances due or making necessaryadjusting entries. THIS STEP INCLUDES "COMPLETING" CLAIMS IN IMS ADJUDICATIONSO THAT THE CLAIMS ARE PROPERLY & TIMELY CLOSED.

RequiredSkills/Abilities:

- Bilingual (required) - Excellent oral andwritten communication skills in English and Spanish

- - Knowledge of administrative and clericalprocedures

- Excellent customerservice/patient service skills and great phone etiquette

- Professional personalpresentation

- Team player

- Ability to prioritizemultiple tasks and responsibilities.

- Must be organized andmanage time.

- "Can-do" attitude and willingness to learn newskills and technologies.

- Internet usage for insurance verifications

- IMS - onsite training

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word,Excel, Power Point and Outlook.

- Use of office equipment, i.e., computers, keyboard,iPad, scanner, fax machine, copy machine and postage meter.

- Internet- using the internet for filing claims,gathering information, and communicating.

- Spreadsheets- knowledge and ability to create,modify and electronically transmit.

Educationand Experience Requirements:

- High School diploma orequivalent

- Must have one -plusyears of claims (insurance billing experience)

Physical Requirements:

Stand;walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; public speaking; hear; see; bend, able tolift 15 pounds; drive a motor vehicle. Job requires extensive computer use;employee must have sufficient hand dexterity to use a computer keyboard/mouseand computer screen for lengthy periods of time.
