This position will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization's assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience and location. Expected starting base salary $30 to $35 per hour.
Job Description:
* Performs general cost accounting and other related duties.
* Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
* Maintains the general ledger.
* Prepares journal entries, prepaid data entry, and reviews check batches.
* Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
* Reconciles bank accounts, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
* Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections.
* Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform an annual audit.
* Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.
Requirements:
* Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
* Able to communicate with professionals at all levels
* Able to communicate complex information to a variety of audiences
* Ability to correctly prepare tax reports
Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or related field, required
* 3 years of related experience required
* Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
* Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles
* Expertise with SQL and Excel
* Should be proficient in Microsoft Power BI
* Experience with dashboard creation and report automation
* Non-profit experience preferred
