TLC Nursing Associates, Inc. is seeking an experienced and skilled Registered Nurse - First Assist (RNFA) to work alongside surgeons in delivering optimal perioperative care. The RNFA will play a crucial role during surgical procedures by providing direct assistance and ensuring patient safety and positive outcomes throughout the operative process.
Job Responsibilities
* Assist surgeons during operative and invasive procedures by providing exposure, controlling bleeding, suturing incisions, and maintaining sterility.
* Conduct preoperative and postoperative patient assessments and care planning.
* Support positioning, prepping, and draping of patients for surgical procedures.
* Provide wound care and apply dressings following surgery.
* Document intraoperative activities and ensure accurate communication with the surgical team.
* Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and operating room staff to ensure efficient and safe surgical care.
* Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and compliance standards at all times.
Qualifications
* Active and unrestricted RN license in the state of practice.
* Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) or completion of an RNFA program accredited by AORN.
* Current BLS and ACLS certification.
* Minimum 2 years of perioperative nursing experience required.
* Strong critical thinking, communication, and surgical team collaboration skills.
* Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure surgical environments.
