Century Group is partnering with a client that is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary of $50,000 to $68,000 per year.
Job Responsibilities:
* Assist in preparing financial statements and support schedules in accordance with GAAP.
* Maintain financial records for subsidiary companies by analyzing balance sheets and general ledger accounts.
* Perform variance analysis on balance sheet and income statement accounts to identify trends and discrepancies.
* Prepare and reconcile accounts, including supporting sub-ledgers and month-end adjusting journal entries.
* Assist in preparing audit support schedules and documentation for external auditors.
Requirements:
* Hold a CPA license, be a CPA candidate, or have CPA eligibility (preferred but not required).
* Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills for financial analysis.
* Show strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities to manage accounting tasks effectively.
* Possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
* Maintain a detail-oriented approach to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and reconciliations.
Qualifications:
* A bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or a related field, with a minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience.
* Uphold confidentiality while securing financial information and sensitive records.
* Follow accounting policies and procedures to maintain strong internal controls.
* Adapt to fast-paced environments while meeting deadlines and completing projects efficiently.
