American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a High Risk Labor & Delivery position requiring at least two years of high-risk L&D experience and valid GA or compact RN licensure.
Job Details
- Work in a high-risk Labor & Delivery and perinatal unit in a hospital setting,
- Unit includes 12 L&D beds, 16 Postpartum/Antepartum beds, and 4 OBED beds,
- Patient population includes women during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period with high-risk conditions,
- Staff to AWHONN guidelines: L&D nurse-to-patient ratio 1:1-2 depending on acuity, Postpartum/Antepartum ratio 1:4-6 depending on acuity,
- Epic EMR system is used; Obix fetal monitoring and various specialized L&D equipment,
- 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM; weekends required, no call required,
- RNs with two or more years of high-risk L&D experience may train and float to OBED if desired,
Job Requirements
- Active RN license for the State of Georgia or a multistate compact RN license,
- BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certifications required,
- Minimum of two years recent experience in high-risk Labor & Delivery nursing,
- Experience with Epic EMR, fetal monitoring, and other L&D specialty equipment is required,
Additional Information
- Main responsibilities include monitoring maternal and fetal health, assisting with labor management, supporting the delivery process, and providing postpartum care,
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team including OB residents and attending physicians,
- Three-day, preceptor-based Labor & Delivery orientation and additional computer-based modules provided,
- Competency checklist and specific training on department policies and procedures are required,
- OR scrubs are provided by the unit,
- Relies on both independent work and team nursing to ensure safe patient care,
