Licensed Practical Nurse - IDEA Edgecliff (Immediate Opening)
Role overview: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides health services to students, conducts state-mandated screenings, maintains 100% immunization state compliance, and keeps accurate health records. The LPN leads the campus clinic on site for a campus with up to 1,600 students and promotes health education and preventative health practices. All clinic staff report to the campus Assistant Principal of Operations (APO); medical and district compliance are directed to the Director of Health and Wellness. LPNs are placed in the Academy, primarily serving K-5 students, with care for all students K-12 as needed.
What You’ll Do – Accountabilities
Health Services: Provide direct care using professional triage, basic care, and established school health protocols; manage the campus clinic independently; serve as a health advocate for students; notify parents of accidents or illnesses and secure medical care in emergencies; coordinate medication administration at school; implement procedures for mandatory screening programs; ensure immunization compliance per state requirements.
Consultation: Serve as a health liaison between school, physicians, parents, and community; assess student problems and make referrals with collaboration from students, families, and professionals; participate in health-related school committees; support health-related IEP items; assist with recognizing and reporting suspected child abuse; conduct home visits as needed with principal approval; maintain regular communication with school leadership and health staff regarding health services issues.
Administration: Collect and review immunization records; maintain physical and electronic records; manage clinic inventory and supplies; comply with federal/state rules and district health policies; report health and safety hazards as needed.
Professional Development: Maintain LPN licensure and CPR/First Aid certification; stay current with state-approved vision, hearing, spinal, and AN health screening credentials; model professional conduct.
What You Bring — Competencies
Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR
Knowledge of diabetic care management
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Proficient keyboarding and electronic file maintenance
Ability to use laptops and software to develop databases and word processing
Ability to track, enter, analyze, and monitor data
Effective verbal and written communication
Time management, prioritization, and goal-oriented execution
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED (required)
LVN or LPN licensure (required)
Current CPR/First Aid certification (required)
Certification to conduct vision, hearing, spinal, and AN screenings (preferred)
2+ years’ experience in a health-related position (required)
Experience with school-age children (preferred)
Experience maintaining electronic health records (preferred)

Compensation & Benefits
Compensation: hourly rate between $22.57 and $28.22 based on experience
Performance bonus based on team performance and goal attainment
