Part‑time Cook position at Wadsworth Glen Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Middletown.>
Schedule: 11:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m., every other weekend. Base pay: $19.13 per hour.
Duties and Responsibilities
Follow therapeutic diets ordered by the.
Ensure the proper serving temperature of food.
Maintain visual appeal of the food.
Monitor daily nourishment and follow standardized recipes.
Assure proper portion control.
Adhere to sanitation and storage policy and procedure.
Other duties assigned by the manager.
Specific Requirements
Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
Must have reading, writing, speaking, and understanding of English.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
Must deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
Must be knowledgeable of dining service procedures and related laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to hospital and nursing home operations.
Must possess leadership ability and willingness to supervise professional and non‑professional personnel.
Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, and the appearance of work areas, performing regular inspections of food service areas for sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of assigned duties.
Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, and be willing to handle residents as appropriate to their maturity level.
