Pay: $19.50 per hour. Full‑time, Monday‑Friday, 8:00 am‑5:00 pm. Responsibilities

Review background file, conduct personal interview and tests to recommend program for each assigned inmate. Initiate and maintain individual PSD folder. Provide direct aid and counseling on personal needs including sickness, injury, family problems. Provide continuous educational, vocational, personal and social adjustment counseling individually and in groups; recommend program modifications. Conduct continuous interpretation and evaluation of progress; coordinate problem cases and document records. Utilize new concepts and recommend training sessions to develop proficiency among staff. Recommend medical or psychiatric evaluation; evaluate results and take remedial action. Assist evaluation of facility services for inmates and recommend modifications. Promote positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors observed. Maintain accountability of inmates and property; adhere to safety practices. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in counseling or related field required; one year related experience required. Four years of correctional experience may be considered in lieu of education. Must have license or certification as required by governing state agency. Valid driver's license in Mississippi or Louisiana with acceptable driving record required, unless waived.
