Compensation

Starting wages at $43.90–$56.40 per hour.

Wage calculation is based on experience, shift, a $3.40/hr Michigan Direct Care Incentive, $2/hr attendance bonus, and a $5/hr weekend warrior program.

Summary The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates, and provides total nursing care for residents and provides supervision and guidance to clinical staff members.

Qualifications

Education:

Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing. (Preferred: Associates or better in Nursing.)

Licenses/Certification:

Valid RN license in the state employed; Valid CPR certification.

Experience:

One year of nursing experience preferred.

Job Functions

Initiates and leads team conferences in development of individualized nursing care plans.

Assesses and documents the resident's condition and nursing needs.

Accurately and promptly implements physicians' orders.

Assigns nursing care to team members in accordance with resident needs and staff capabilities.

Supervises, directs, and evaluates LPNs, LVNs, and CNAs.

Administers medications, starts IVs, and performs treatments for assigned residents, documenting as required.

Participates in orientation and in‑service training for personnel.

Assists physicians with special tests and procedures within the scope of state‑specified Nursing Practice Act.

Ensures supplies are utilized economically and equipment is clean and maintained safely.

Coordinates nursing care when residents are scheduled for therapy or procedures by other departments.

Interviews applicants, recommends hires, and participates in counseling, disciplinary action, and termination of staff to extent permitted by state practice act.

Supervises nursing unit, scheduling and directing nursing staff to extent permitted by state practice act.

Performs other tasks as assigned.

Skilled in directing and motivating the workforce.

Ability to work cooperatively as a team member.

Effective communication with residents and their family members at all organizational levels.

Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations.

Knowledge of training techniques for clinical staff.

Ability to maintain confidentiality.
