Job Summary and Responsibilities The Registered Nurse functions as a vital member of the healthcare team who contributes to the success of the practice by demonstrating patient focus, effective communication, professionalism, and teamwork. Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care provided to selected patient populations and their families.
Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements; initiates plan of care.
Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
Promotes patient’s independence by establishing patient care goals; teaches patient, friends, and family to understand condition, medications, and self‑care skills; answers questions.
Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measures health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; makes or recommends necessary adjustments; follows hospital and nursing division’s philosophies and standards of care set by board of nursing, state nurse practice act, and other governing agency regulations.
Resolves patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.
Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
Education and Experience
Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN), required.
Licensure and Certifications
Registered Nurse: North Dakota (RN:ND), required upon hire.
Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR), required upon hire.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), required within 90 days of start.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), required within 90 days of start.
