The Hägglöf Lab studies how B lymphocytes sense and respond to molecular stresses and insults to determine how B cell coping mechanisms control antibody formation and immune responses in contexts of cancer and vaccination. Therefore, the lab performs immunological assays to study B cells including flow cytometry, ELISA, immunofluorescent microscopy, mouse colony management, genotyping, tissue isolation from mouse bone marrow, spleen, and lymph nodes.

Position Responsibilities

Perform a moderate number of simple or moderate technical procedures (Mouse ear punching, Mouse weaning, Mouse injections, Tissue harvesting, Immunoessays, Flow Cytometry, Tissue Prep for Micropsy).

Require occasional guidance.

Order routine supplies.

Modify technical procedures.

Train other lab members.

Guide other lab members.

A simple/limited understanding of scientific literature and the research goals and rationale is required.

Occasionally analyze data.

Interpret data.

Make written contributions to papers and grant proposals.

Qualifications

Required to have at least a Bachelor’s Degree in a related science or equivalent skills and related experience, and zero to two years of related experience.

Previous experience from a B cell biology lab preferred.

Prior experience from a B cell lab, working with memory B cells or plasma cells.

Hiring Rate: $26.80, Post Probationary Rate: $27.33, Job Rate: $28.18
