The Maintenance Repairman position is critical in ensuring that the processes and operations of machinery and mechanical equipment are maintained in a preventative fashion to ensure optimum reliability and uptime. In this position you will be provided with plenty of opportunities to develop and enhance your skills and build a career with Alamo Cement. Inspect, operate and/or test machinery and equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and provide recommendations for repair. Locate the source of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for issues and using precision measuring and testing instruments. Provide a detailed written description of work performed. Provide scope of work, parts, and equipment requirements for repairs during both scheduled and unscheduled mill and kiln outages. Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run efficiently and effectively. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them. Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution is required. Technical/Trade School Degree or Certificate is preferred. Applicable Licenses are preferred but not required. Must have a minimum of four (4) years’ experience in heavy process equipment, preferably in the mineral processing industry, or a minimum of six months experience in cement plant operations. Ability to remove and install guards and other equipment. Ability to align couplings, motors, and gearboxes. Ability to maintain and replace bearings. Must be able to exhibit competence in welding and flame cutting. Ability to perform mechanical assembly and fabrication. Ability to operate maintenance trucks, mobile equipment, forklifts, and manlifts. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Close attention to detail. Maintain a clean and safe working environment by complying with safety policies, practices, and procedures. Ability to work different extended hours, holidays, and/or overtime as required. Speak, read, write, and understand English. Ability to work independently, without constant supervision. Ability to work inside and outside in year‑round weather conditions. In good physical condition, able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs., sit and stand for extended periods of time, kneel, climb ladders, and walk on mixed terrain and in confined spaces.
