Position Summary
A Driver- CDL (B) is responsible for safely operating a collection truck, providing prompt, courteous and complete waste removal services for customers, ensuring vehicle compliance with safety standards, adhering to all regulations, and completing vehicle condition reports daily.
Principal Responsibilities
Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of the vehicle per company policy, reporting safety issues on standard reports.
Safely operate heavy truck along designated route and disposal site, following route sheet, map, and service instructions.
Operate manual or automatic controls to lift and load refuse, operate compactor, and dispose of collected material at the designated facility.
Courteously interact with customers, dispatchers, and others to ensure timely and professional service.
Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag them according to departmental procedures.
Continuously monitor waste for unacceptable waste and clean spill areas, adhering to safety standards.
Monitor vehicle condition, maintain operational readiness, clean waste from packer blade and truck body as needed.
Complete required route/productivity sheets, VCRs, and other reports.
Maintain adherence to productivity standards, safety policies, and the Company’s ReSOP program.
Perform additional job‑related duties as assigned.
Demonstrate good customer service, time management, and follow‑through skills, and promote safety standards.
Minimum Requirements
Class B or higher Commercial Driver’s license with air brakes endorsement.
