Job Summary Buffalo Rock is an award‑winning Pepsi and Keurig Dr Pepper bottler with more than 123 years of history.
The Forklift Operator (Loading) is responsible for ensuring routes are loaded accurately, efficiently, and safely, maintaining the flow of product across the Vertique system.
The operator must cross‑train and perform any job functions of other forklift operators as needed.
Essential Functions
Maintain regular and timely attendance; work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Operate various forklifts (stand‑up and sit‑down) following Central Hub Loading best practices.
Perform pre‑trip inspections on all power equipment via InfoLink.
Follow driving work rules and remain aware of surroundings.
Offload/load shipping equipment from trailers, inspect trailer conditions, and report abnormalities.
Offload product returns and move them to staging areas.
Follow loading documentation, ensuring correct product sequence per Container ID, route #, and trailer #.
Load route trucks accurately and efficiently, keeping the pallet chain flowing and avoiding back‑up.
Secure loads with a minimum of two straps.
Move products from backstock to trailers, recording transactions in the Warehouse Management System (tablet, cell phone, RF scanner).
Rotate stock using the Location Base Inventory (LBI) process according to FEFO.
Load offline products as per loading document request.
Manually build partial pallets from backstock as required. Handle packaged product gently to avoid damage.
Sort and organize empty pallets, moving them to the designated Dunnage area.
Feed pallet dispensers with appropriate empty pallets to maintain palletizer operation.
Collect and move damaged items to the designated recycling area.
Communicate any abnormal or damaged conditions to Warehouse Lead/Supervisor loku.
Assist other areas when needed.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and work area; mop spills to keep floors clean and dry.
Use proper lifting techniques; follow BRC safety practices.
Make sound decisions and multitask without constant supervision.
Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOP) and work instructions.
Follow GMPs and complete required food‑safety training; report potential food‑safety issues.
Perform other assigned duties as needed.
