Provides direct patient care, within the scope of their license, with supervision from the physician. This may include medical treatment of wounds, wound care, and administration of medications by pre-established protocol, including vasoactive medications, drawing bloodwork, placing splints/boots, Foley insertion, use of glucometer, I-STAT, Kurin, taking vital signs, and IV fluid administration. The position may administer preset protocols and standing orders as ordered by a physician. Performs clinical duties as defined in orientation, with ongoing competency assessment. Supports physicians, nursing, and hospital administration by adherence to established objectives, policies and procedures. Demonstrates understanding of and compliance with EMTALA regulations. Accurately documents patient-related tasks. Adapts communication and service delivery to the patient population, maintaining privacy and obtaining appropriate permissions. Other related duties as required. Qualifications

Education: Required – High school diploma or equivalent. Graduation from an approved Paramedic Program. Work Experience: Required – None. Preferred – Emergency Medical Services (EMS) or Hospital Experience. Certifications: Required – Paramedic License in the State of Practice; National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians as a Paramedic; Basic Life Support (BLS); Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) to be obtained within 90 days of hire; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) to be obtained within 90 days of hire; Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) within 30 days of hire. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval; proficiency with Windows-style applications and role-specific software; strong verbal and written communication; excellent interpersonal skills. Self-directed with ability to work independently; effective planning, organizing, and time management; ability to identify medical emergencies and assist with management. Physical and Environmental Demands
