Job Overview
The Sandhills Research Station is one of eighteen agricultural research centers in the State of North Carolina. North Carolina State University owns the Sandhills Research Station with operational management through the Division of Research Stations and the North Carolina Agricultural Research Service. The Sandhills Research Station is a vital link in the chain of research stations addressing agricultural concerns of the Sandhills area of North Carolina. The primary purpose of the Research Station is to provide land, personnel, expertise, facilities and equipment to research سجل scientists conducting agricultural research projects which address specific questions concerning crop production in North Carolina. Current research projects involve the production or improvement of soybeans, cotton, turfgrass, peaches, blueberries, blackberries, landscape ornamentals, and sweet potatoes.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct field work activities in support of ongoing agricultural research projects.
Apply pesticides according to established protocols and safety guidelines.
Provide cultural care for various crops.
Assist in the coordination and execution of research experiments and trials.
Maintain accurate records of field activities, observations, and data collection.
Collaborate with research scientists and other team members to achieve project objectives.
Other Responsibilities
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in agriculture production and/or agricultural research.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a routine basis.
Ability to operate farm machinery.

Ability to communicate in both oral and written form. Ability to read and follow pesticide labels and research protocols.
Ability to collect and record data accurately.
Required License or Certification
NC Pesticide Applicator License or ability to obtain within 6 mos.
NC Driver's License or the ability to obtain within 60 days.
NC Forklift Driver Certification or the ability to obtain within 6 months.
Medical Respirator Certification or the ability to obtain within 12 months.
Additional Requirements
Valid NC Driver's License required: Yes.
Commercial Driver's License Required: No.
