Job Summary This position performs duties necessary to treat patients in accordance with the physician's order and departmental policy. Works independently in all acute and critical care settings. Consults with physicians and other personnel and makes recommendations on treatment as appropriate. Must possess skills necessary to treat patients of all ages to include infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Accountabilitiesliet

Acts independently to perform respiratory therapy general and critical care procedures in accordance with the physician's order, departmental policy, and Respir 있습니다 guidelines or protocols. - 30%

Able to obtain blood gases from all sites and analyze and report results accurately. - 10%

Initiate and manage all types of airways and associated equipment. - 10%

Accurately and completely document and charge for all respiratory care procedures and tasks and provide patient and family education as appropriate. - 10%

Effectively communicate with all members of the healthcare team, including students and nurse shadows, and provide accurate and complete reports. Make recommendations as appropriate and communicate with supervisors d, or those acting in lieu of the above. - 10%

Adhere to infection control and quality initiatives. Perform appropriate cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of equipment between patients as indicated by equipment type and isolation status. - 10%ണ്ട>

Act as a steward of resources, including supplies, time, and productivity. - 10%

Minimum Requirements Associate's Degree – Graduate of a Respiratory Care Program by an accredited school.

In Lieu Of In lieu of an associate degree, will consider diploma and/or experience.

Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses

South Carolina Respiratory Care Practitioner license

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

BLS

NBRC (credentials must be maintained)

Other certifications dependent on work unit: NRP, PALS, ACLS, NPS

ACLS required within the first year for adult care areas

NRP and PALS required in the Children's Hospital prior to working independently in the NICU and PICU
